As President, Tom serves Quist’s world-class clients by leading an expert team of Chartered Financial Analysts, Accredited Senior Appraisers and economists in guiding public and private companies and Venture Capital/Private Equity investment entities through the ever-evolving intricacies of financial reporting, corporate finance, tax compliance and related litigation support.
Tom has performed over 1,000 business and securities valuations for VC/PE investors as well as public and private companies across a wide range of industries (including software, gaming, construction, business services, manufacturing, medical devices, oil & gas and telecommunications). In addition, Tom has conducted intrinsic debt and equity valuations of more than 100 IPOs, as well as for M&A activity in the consumer products, Internet services, retail distribution, software, and telecommunications industries.
Given his extensive experience, Tom Miller is a nationally recognized authority on providing highly defensible valuations and is a frequent speaker, author, and contributor to articles on complex valuation issues including Fair Value, Employee Stock Option Valuation and Carried Interest Valuation.
Prior to joining Quist Valuation in 2000, Tom worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager for a family office in Boulder, Colorado and as an Equity Research Associate for Robert W. Baird in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tom is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of San Francisco, Swiss Society of Investment Professionals and the Fair Value Forum.
Holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, Tom received his MBA from Thunderbird - American Graduate School of International Management and a BS in International Relations and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
